The Hillsdale College Master of Arts Degree in Classical Education is a professional program for those who wish to teach in, administer, or found classical schools as well as those who seek to deepen their understanding of the principles and practices of classical education. Like many other graduate, professional degrees, the program does not presume prior exposure to or formation in classical education or its related disciplines.
For Fall 2023, applications submitted on or before December 15, 2022, are guaranteed full consideration and decisions will be sent out no later than February 1. Applications completed after December 15 may be considered, as circumstances warrant.
The School of Government is a part-time program granting an MA in Government. Its focus is on teaching the theory and practice of governance to professionals who live an active, thoughtful life in politics in Washington, D.C.
MA Applications are accepted for Fall and Spring Semesters.
The School of Statesmanship is a full-time program granting both the MA and the PhD in Politics. Its focus is equally Political Philosophy and American Politics, and students study both the theory and practice of government, with a focus on statesmanship.
PhD applications are only accepted for Fall Semesters. MA Applications are accepted for Fall and Spring Semesters. The next available entrance semesters are Spring 2025 (MA only) and Fall 2025 (MA and PhD).
